Rising Wing is a membership-based professional development organization for individuals navigating careers in the arts and culture sector in Philadelphia. Inspired by the idea of “flocking” as a new model of collective leadership, we are non-hierarchical, highly networked, and share leadership responsibilities based on individual capacity and expertise.

 

Our members work across all artistic disciplines and seek to elevate the perception of Philadelphia as an artistic destination, a locus of contemporary artistic practice, and healthy discourse around creative work. Our mission is driven by the need to support, connect, and empower professionals in these fields, creating a vibrant, interconnected community, and sustainable and enriching careers for members.

 

New members are welcomed into the group at the invitation of current members. Rising Wing values regular, intentional gatherings and emphasizing building relationships and supporting each other's projects and events. We are dedicated to growing a shared understanding of the dynamics and dynamism of Philadelphia’s cultural scene.
